About cookbook
My inspiration for this project came from a lifetime love affair with cooking and seeing my peers struggle to gain confidence in their cooking. With the proliferation of meal delivery services providing everything for dinner but the elbow grease and endless think pieces about millennials spending large proportions of their budgets on eating out, I set out to design an app that would inspire and educate people who feel lost in the kitchen.
I used surveys, interviews, and competitive analysis to learn about user needs, history with cooking, and learning styles, as well as common frustrations and pain points, turning gathered information into user personas, sitemaps, and user flows. By focusing on information directly from users, as well as continual feedback and critique by my mentor and peers, I created designs that focused on user needs and ease of use.
